When there is too much to do, I sit and pause to re-charge. Then, I can think more clearly again.Wellness Empowerment® Student Retreats; On-goingThe drastic changes children and parents are facing from COVID-19 brings a great deal of stress and uncertainty. As expected during this pandemic, there is more anxiety about what to expect next and fears about what will happen with school. It is important for our children to have a safe space to share their feelings and to connect with peers during our virtual Wellness Empowerment® Retreats! These Retreat emphasize strengthening mental wellness and the mind-body connection. This program will immerse the students in active and meaningful art making, drama exercises, soothing mindfulness practices, and playful yoga for positive social connection. During this retreat, the students will use different modalities that are grounded in the themes of Creativity, Connection, and Calm.Art, mindfulness, & yoga to help reduce anxiety and increase positive coping & social skills:Wellness Empowerment® Retreats will allow students to experience art, socialization, and simple yoga and mindfulness for continuity and connection;• Experience the power of creating a community through hands-on activities,• Feel connected to themselves and each other through movement sequences,• Engage in art projects,• Participate in mindfulness and yoga games, drama techniques, and storytelling,• Feel safe, empowered, and accepted for who they are,• Manage stress and anxiety,• Deal with academic and social pressures,• Negotiate social challenges,• Build healthy friendships and self-esteem,• Learn practical breathing and relaxation techniques,• Feel more at ease in their day to day experience. The inclusion of story, creativity, movement, and relaxation techniques will inspire students and help them find calm.Group Structure:Each day, the retreat will begin on zoom for a mindfulness check-in and yoga sequence/game that will set the theme and tone for the group. Then, art making will take place for the second part of the group. Expressing oneself through art activities helps to make thoughts, feelings, and ideas tangible. This can help people to communicate what sometimes cannot be said through words alone. Creative expression has been shown to naturally calm the body, reduce blood pressure, and even release chemicals in the brain that help decrease depression and relieve anxiety. Opening up through artistic expression & yoga can improve one's outlook and mood, but most importantly, it helps us to communicate our experiences, whatever they might be: including stress or anxiety for life’s many changes and transitions. Regardless of skill level, everyone has the capacity to use the creative process for health and well-being. The health benefits of art-making activities come from the process involved in creative expression, not the product. You do not have to be an artist to enjoy and take advantage of art’s many benefits to enhance overall wellness. The group will end with a reflective check-out and will include breathing techniques, creative movement, and/or relaxation strategies to feel calm before they go back into the world!*Retreat is limited to 8 studentsWellness Empowerment® Parent Retreats: On-Going*Connect with other parents in a safe space on-line- YOU ARE NOT ALONE; ‘It takes a village’, especially during this challenging time*Share common parenting concerns together*Learn new ways to release stress, relax, & recharge*How to maintain presence & calm with your children*TIME FOR YOU to 'receive' rather than to 'give'YOU DESERVE IT!!To register, please contact:(603)-943-2424lindaprice@wellnessempowerment.care

Group Structure:

The retreat begins with a mindfulness check-in and yoga sequence/game that will set the theme and tone for the group. Then, art making and creative play will take place for the second part of the group. The health benefits come from the process involved in creative expression, not the end product. You do not have to be an artist to enjoy and take advantage of the many benefits of creativity in enhancing overall wellness. The group will end with a reflective check-out and will include breathing techniques, creative movement, and/or relaxation strategies to feel calm before going back into the world!
